Your pet's uniqueness, like healed scars or lost leg will not be a negative point! We welcome Pet Kelainan Upaya/ Kurang Upaya.

Your pet's special/ rare breed, colors will not be a plus point as we are against breeding culture of 'rare' breed/colors.

Remember that this category is not about finding the 'pretty' perfection. All pets that are wellness taken care of are beautiful in our eyes!
Best proper cage setup
FIRST OPTION: Upload a video!

Bringing the cage to the contest is not required, so you have to record the best footage of your pet's cage!

The length of the video must not exceed 5 minutes.

Uploading the video in high quality format is encouraged.

Scoring will be judged based on proper cage setup, but bonus point if your video is unique and attractive!

You are free to record of your pet's cage, and don't forget you need to be present in the recording with your pet and the whole cage.

Elaborate your proper care in your video. Cage size, type of cage, type of bedding or any substrate, etc. Example ; Size cage : 80x50x50cm, Cage type : Glass tank, Substrate : orhard hay etc. Species : Syrian.

For hamster, minimum cage size for the dwarf species must be 70x40cm and above. For the Syrian species, the minimum size must be 80x50cm and above. The bigger, the better.

For hedgehog, minimum cage size should be minimum 90x70cm or 6300cm square. The bigger, the better.

The cage floor space must be continuous open space. Multiple cage floors and connectors via tunnels or tubes are prohibited.

Must be one hedgehog/hamster in one cage.

Video must be uploaded to your Instagram or Tiktok or youtube and the link should be emailed to haiwanbukanpermainan@gmail.com.

Don't forget to tag your video with the following the hashtag; #SEPS2023 on your platform media (Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube).

Submit the video before 11.59 pm on 7 JUNE 2023.
SECOND OPTION: Board montage!

Bringing the cage to the contest is not required, so you have to create your DIY photomontage board!

You can use any material to create a DIY photomontage board, make sure you complete your DIY photomontage board before the event day. You are free to decorate your board with your own creativity.

The pictures must be clear, using 2R and 4R photo sizes or bigger.

You are free to take pictures of your pet's cage, and make sure there is a picture of you with your pet and a picture of the whole cage.

Rules & Regulations

Owner of the pet contestant must NOT A BREEDER OR A PET SHOP. We do not condone commercial breeding as it is against our principal that adopt is always better than shop.

Owner must provide a comfortable carrier for the pet.
-
Pet is encouraged to be in the carrier or temporary cage all the time except during judging contestant. Owners are responsible for the risks in allowing free roaming owns pet(s) in the venue area.

Owner must ensure that the pet is free from infectious disease (Mite, fungus, bacteria, viral flu etc).
-
Owner must allow if the judge want to touch and handle the pet.
-
Owner must be open to accept criticism if the item/supply used for their pet is improper/harmful/dangerous. This event encourages learning on proper pet welfare and aims to instil a better Malaysian community that practices proper pet care.

No selling pets among owners.

Owner of contestant must not be the event's organiser's crew/sponsor or collaborator.
-
The organisers deserve the right to withdraw your participation if the owner do not abide by the T&C.
-
The organisers deserve the right to name another winner if the original winner failed to abide by the T&C.

The organisers deserve the right to add, modify, terminate or change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

What should I bring for the competition?You should travel to the venue with a proper pet carrier. Hedgehog competition | 10th June - Proper pet carrier - 2x2 cube panel with connector as temporary cage - Additional: for Category proper cage setup contestants, kindly prepare your video submission before the event date. Hamster & sugar glider competition | 11th June - Temporary small cage. Best xample here. Wired small temporary cage is not encouraged.

What other activities will be there?The main activities of this event are;- Small exotic pet competition 10th June | Hedgehog 11th June | Hamster & Sugar glider Proper pet care awareness at Haiwan Bukan Permainan booth Kids Coloring and Drawing contest 10th June | Coloring (9 years and below) 11th June | Drawing (10-12 years old) Local brands Pet supplies More than 15 local brands selling small exotic pet supplies for you to top-up your pets' needs. Other than that, is obviously strolling around the event and cherishing how cute these pets are!

Do I need to pay as visitor?No. Entry is free! Only those who participate for pet competition needs to pay for registration fee

Is there any fee to join the pet competition?Yes. There will be a registration fee for each participation 🐹Hamster: RM20 🦔 Hedgehog: RM30 👽 Sugar glider: RM20 Additional contestant of the same species, add RM8 Example: - 2 Hamsters, (RM20+RM8) - 1 Hamster, 1 Hedgehog (RM20 +RM30) You are expected to pay the fee during online registration, before the event day

How is the scoring for competition will be determined?There will be 1 judge for every category of main competition. Our judges panel include professional veterinarian, experienced rescuer and board organiser. List of categories;- Main competition (Hedgehog & Hamster) Wellness & temperament Scoring includes skin and body hygiene, healthy weight, hydration, activeness, routine, pet-owner bond and handling. Pet Kurang Upaya (disabled pet) like amputated legs, lost eyeball and others are still well welcomed with no discrimination. The lost body part's score will be dismissed. Proper cage setup Scoring includes safe pet supplies, environment, routine Rescue story Most creative, unique and impressive story Supplementary competition (Sugar glider) Glide to owner Climbing rope Eating dubia ------------ The organisers deserve the right to add, modify, terminate or change the scoring method

Is it only hamster, hedgehog and sugar glider that is open for competition?Yes, for now. We are open to host more species of small exotic pet competition in the future.

Can I join the competition as walk in, instead of registering online before the event day?You may only walk-in if there is any slot left for the species you want to participate in. If the slot is full, you will not be able to sign up for the competition. Hence, why we highly encourage you to register online ASAP! 😉

Is meal, transport, shelter allowance provided?Unfortunately no. Meal: You can buy breakfast/lunch from the stores inside or near Shaftbury, Putrajaya. You can also use the discount vouchers given by our sponsors to cater your meal. Transport: Car- Parking fee Public transport- Take MRT Putrajaya line and stops at Station Putrajaya Sentral. Then take Grab or bus number T509

Can crew volunteer join the pet competition?Unfortunately no IF the pet species that is competing is on the same day. For example, if you want to send your hamster pet for competition which will be on 11th June, you are allowed to be volunteer on 10th June. If you want to join the competition but also volunteer as crew on the same day, it is not allowed.

What will I get as crew volunteer?No wages/salary will be paid, as the term is 'volunteer'. However, our volunteers will get token of appreciation: Goodies of pet supplies, grocery vouchers of our sponsors
